Letter from the Program Director

Welcome to the Canton Medical Education Foundation Internal Medicine Residency!  I invite you to browse through our website to gain a better understanding of Internal Medicine, the CMEF training sites (Aultman Hospital and Mercy Medical Center), the CMEF Internal Medicine Residency, and how we might fit your educational training goals.

We are a three-year, ACGME fully-accredited program.  We offer 12 PGY-1 resident positions via application through ERAS annually.

Our program offers an academic atmosphere through community-based teaching experiences.  We emphasize personal development and encourage an ethos of dedication to lifelong learning, motivational attitude and diligence.  We feature dedicated faculty mentorship and opportunities for research and quality improvement projects.  Our graduates successfully advance to careers in private practice, fellowship training and academic appointments.

Our affiliation with Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) affords the opportunity for interacting and teaching medical students.  We also offer a wide range of medical student rotations via clerkships, sub-internships and observerships.

Thank you for taking time to visit our program.  We look forward to being a part of your future career in Internal Medicine.

Sincerely,

Jennifer L. Beard, MD, FACP

Program Director
